Things to do on Valentine’s Day

Things to do on Valentine’s Day

Stuck for ideas on what to do on Valentine’s Day? We’ve put our heads together and come up with our favourite fun and romantic activities to mark this special day. Besides buying your partner the most beautiful red roses, there's much more to do on this special day of love.

Things to do on Valentine's Day

  1. Go for a walk together and explore a part of your neighbourhood you’ve never been in before. Enjoy being outdoors, experiencing the first signs of spring with your favourite person.

  2. Pretend you’re tourists new in town. Look up what’s recommended for visitors to your area and see those sights you’ve never got around to. You might be surprised at what’s been right under your noses.

  3. Make a scrapbook. Gather together your favourite photos and mementoes, and spend a cosy few hours together reliving your best times as you create your scrapbook together. A lovely memory for you to treasure and enjoy for year to come.

  4. Are you the kind of couple that gets on well in the kitchen? Then why not bake something together – maybe a delicious cake that you can decorate with a romantic Valentine’s Day message. On the other hand, if cooking together is likely to end your relationship, divide your labour and cook a part of a meal, then enjoy it together.

  5. Why not go really old-fashioned and write a letter to your love by hand on a sheet of beautiful writing paper? Tell them how much you care, and let them do the same for you, making a lovely memento to save and cherish. You could even make it an annual Valentine’s tradition, creating a beautiful record of your relationship through the years.

  6. Have a movie night. Pick a romantic rom-com or your favourite box set, settle in with popcorn and a take-away, and enjoy a night in together at the movies, where you’re sure to have the best seats in the house.

  7. It might not be possible to pop off to Paris or Florence for the evening, but with a bit of preparation, you can still enjoy a virtual trip to the romantic destination of your choice. If cooking is your thing, try out a recipe in the cuisine of your chosen country, and if you’re not confident in the kitchen, there’s sure to be a take-away version available! Put on some atmospheric music and let yourselves be whisked away to that romantic rendezvous.

  8. Make a treasure hunt for your partner. Hide a trail of clues around the house for them to follow, leading them to their perfect Valentine’s gift.

  9. Learn something new together. Whether it’s a cookery class, a dance lesson, or just a guided tour around a gallery, learning a new skill or finding out more about something is a great way to bring the two of you even closer together.
