4 x Easter decoration DIY ideas

Easter is the perfect time to get creative with plants, baking and other colourful ideas. From table decorations to gift baskets and Easter bonnets, it’s a lovely time of year to celebrate with family and friends. So, whether you would like to spend some time in the garden and use plants for decoration or if you’d prefer to be in the warm cooking up a sweet treat, these 4 DIY decoration ideas should give you plenty of inspiration to enjoy Easter.

1. Create an easy table centrepiece Easter decoration

A lovely idea to combine a piece of the outside with the indoors is to go out looking for some long twigs to place in a clear vase in the centre of the table. The tall stems can also be used to hang fun and colourful decorations from, such as painted eggs (or small chocolate eggs) plus ribbon bows or anything that matches your style and theme. If you would prefer to go more natural, why not fill the vase with stones and place stems with blossom on it for a fragrant display as well.

2. For an edible Easter decoration idea - get baking!

Edible Easter DIY Idea From Easter eggs to biscuits and cake. The Easter celebration always includes food. Your table decoration could be a beautiful Easter cake full of mini Easter eggs. All you will need:

  • your favourite cake recipe
  • a cake stand
  • some tulips
  • cake decoration foliage (blossom and leaves)

Make your delicious cake and decorate it with your chosen nature inspired foliage such as blossom petals and glossy green leaves. Then stand it tall on a cake stand surrounded by Tulips. It will look fantastic as a table display leaving mouths watering for dessert.

3. A traditional Easter decoration idea: painted eggs

Painted hard-boiled and cooled eggs have been an Easter tradition for many years and there is no wonder why. It’s a great activity for children and adults alike and they make such lovely decoration ideas. They can be painted in any colours, or styles as needed and placed altogether on a plate, or hanging up for a lovely Easter display. Plus…they can be used year after year.

4. A stunning DIY Succulent Wreath

Easter decoration wreath If you are feeling really creative, grab yourself a wreath frame and build it up with moss into a padded hoop, then plant lots of tiny succulents in all colours around the wreath. That will look stunning enough as it is but since it’s supposed to be Easter decoration, why not add in some painted Easter eggs or some wrapped chocolate eggs and let your guests take one as a gift. Don't miss out on one yourself though!
